Iberá National Park

The Iberá wetland system spans 1.3 million hectares of lagoons, marshes, and channels, creating a diverse network of freshwater ecosystems in northeastern Argentina.

The national park status granted in 2018 marked a transition from agricultural exploitation to environmental protection, establishing foundations for wildlife conservation in Corrientes.

Local gaucho traditions remain present through horseback cattle herding practices and traditional folk music performances in settlements near the park boundaries.

Visitors can access the park through multiple entry points including Portal San Nicolás, Portal Cambyretá, and Portal Carambola, with guided tours available at each location.

The park hosts successful reintroduction programs for extinct native species, including jaguars, giant anteaters, and red-and-green macaws in their natural habitats.
