Erico Verissimo Museum

The Erico Verissimo Museum occupies two floors within the Cultural Center and displays a collection dedicated to the Brazilian writer. The exhibition includes handwritten manuscripts, photographs, correspondence, and interactive installations that document his life and literary work.

The building was constructed in 1883 and later came into the possession of the Verissimo family before the municipality acquired it in 1930. This conversion into a museum helped preserve the memory of the author and his importance to Brazilian literature.

The museum displays writing desks and personal belongings from different periods of the author's life, showing how he worked and lived day to day. Visitors can see the objects that surrounded him during his career and understand his daily routines.

The museum occupies a building with multiple levels that is easy to reach on foot. Visitors should allow time to explore the interactive displays and the adjoining garden area.

A historic loquat tree grows in the museum garden, serving as the spot where the author found inspiration during his childhood and teenage years. Many visitors overlook this meaningful location, though it marked a key part of his creative life.
