Erico Verissimo Museum, Literary museum in Cruz Alta, Brazil

The Erico Verissimo Museum occupies the writer's birthplace, a house built around 1883 in Cruz Alta. Its rooms display personal objects, books, photographs, drafts and original manuscripts, plus a complete collection of his works. The house also holds a research space and a small 35-seat auditorium where a documentary on his life and work is shown.

Built around 1883, the house was bought a decade later by Érico Verissimo's grandfather, Franklin Verissimo, and stayed in the family until 1930. After the family home was auctioned, the Cruz Alta municipality purchased the building in 1968 and opened the museum on 19 January 1969. It was listed by IPHAE in 1984.

The museum is run by the Fundação Érico Veríssimo, which has been based in the house since 1986. A small 35-seat auditorium shows a documentary on the writer's life and work and hosts cultural events. The collection includes a complete set of his works.
