Puente Internacional Alba Posse - Porto Mauá, Planned international bridge across Uruguay River between Misiones Province, Argentina and Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil
The Puente Internacional Alba Posse - Porto Mauá is a planned highway bridge crossing the Uruguay River between Argentina and Brazil. The structure will connect Alba Posse in Misiones Province with Porto Mauá and feature a series of concrete spans to support vehicle traffic.
The project originated in 1959 when local organizations signed a formal document in Aristóbulo del Valle proposing the bridge. Since then, various planning phases have been conducted between Argentina and Brazil.
The bridge represents a physical connection between Argentine and Brazilian border communities that currently rely on limited ferry services.
Once completed, the bridge will link Provincial Route 103 in Argentina with Highway RS-344 in Brazil, enabling direct vehicle crossing. The structure remains under development and is not yet open to public use or access.
The project with estimated costs of 23.5 million dollars represents the first international bridge planned for this section of the river. This makes it a particularly significant infrastructure initiative for the border region.
