The cathedral exhibits a stone facade combining baroque and neoclassical colonial styles, situated in Plaza 10 de Noviembre in central Potosí.
Following the collapse of the previous church in 1807, Friar Manuel Sanahuya directed the construction of this new cathedral between 1808 and 1838.
The interior holds religious artifacts made of gold and silver, including an organ donated by Bolivian industrialist Simón Patiño to enrich musical ceremonies.
The cathedral maintains a religious art museum section where visitors can examine historical artifacts and decorative elements from different periods.
The building marks the end of local architectural development and represents the final phase of grand cathedral construction in Latin America.
