The Cochabamba Bolivia Temple is a church building featuring a central tower with four corner towers, all clad in hand-hewn Comanche granite with white plaster finishes. It contains two instruction rooms, three sealing rooms, and one baptistry, spread across approximately 3,300 square meters.
The temple was announced in 1995 and became the first of its kind to be built in Bolivia, marking a significant milestone for the country. It was constructed during a period when religious institutions were expanding their presence in Andean communities.
The temple incorporates Bolivian architectural traditions into its design, making these influences visible to anyone walking through it. The tall arched windows with detailed art glass create distinctive interior spaces that reflect local building heritage.
The temple is located along Avenida Melchor Urquidi in the Queru Queru district and is easy to find by following this main street. Visitors should be aware that religious ceremonies take place inside, so modest dress and respectful behavior are appropriate when visiting the interior spaces.
During the open house in 2000, around 65,000 people came to visit despite major social unrest shaking the city at that time. This large turnout reveals how deeply the local community connected with the newly completed temple.
