Parque das Nações Indígenas, Urban park in Campo Grande, Brazil
Parque das Nações Indígenas is an urban park in Campo Grande featuring a lake created by Prosa Creek and landscaped pathways throughout its grounds. The space includes sports courts, play areas, and walking routes suitable for various recreational activities.
The land was previously used for farming before being acquired and redeveloped in 1993 as a public recreation area. This transformation turned former agricultural land into a major green space for the community.
The park's six entrances are named after indigenous nations of Mato Grosso do Sul, honoring groups like the Guarany, Kaiowá, and Terenas. Walking through different gates connects visitors to the heritage of these communities and their place in the region.
The park is open daily from early morning until evening, with facilities available at multiple entrance points. Visitors should wear comfortable footwear as the terrain includes various walking paths and level changes.
The park houses the Bioparque Pantanal, opened in 2022, which displays hundreds of neotropical freshwater fish species in its aquarium facilities. This addition offers visitors a closer look at the region's aquatic diversity.
