Parobé, Industrial municipality in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.
Parobé is a municipality in Rio Grande do Sul in southern Brazil, situated at an elevation of 13 meters (43 feet). The town covers approximately 109 square kilometers (42 square miles) and forms part of the greater Porto Alegre region.
The town originated in the 1830s around a railway station on a large farm property. German colonists arrived in 1846 and became major influences on the settlement's development.
The former railway station building in the central square now serves as a museum where visitors can learn about local heritage. The structure reflects how the community once centered its life around the rail connection.
The town sits about 59 kilometers (37 miles) northeast of Porto Alegre and is accessible by road. Being a smaller municipality, it offers basic facilities and services without the complexity of a major city.
In the 1970s the town became a major center for footwear production in the region. This industrial focus eventually led to its separation as an independent municipality from Taquara in 1982.
