Feliz

Feliz is a municipality in Rio Grande do Sul in southern Brazil, situated in rolling terrain at roughly 120 meters above sea level. The settlement is home to about 13,600 people who work in agriculture and small business.

The municipality was founded in February 1959 as part of an administrative reorganization of Rio Grande do Sul. This moment marked one of many expansions of municipal divisions across southern Brazil at that time.

The settlement carries traditions brought by immigrant communities who arrived in this region generations ago. These roots shape how locals build their homes and organize community life today.

The municipality is located roughly two hours from the state capital Porto Alegre and is accessible by road. Visiting during the warmer months is preferable, as the roads are in better condition and the climate is more comfortable.

The area is part of a region where German and Italian settlers established farms starting in the 1800s. This heritage makes it a lesser-known example of European immigration patterns in southern Brazil.
