Barragem Pedro Beicht

The Barragem Pedro Beicht is a water management dam on the Cotia River standing 23 meters high with a substantial storage capacity. The structure functions as a key infrastructure component for water regulation in the São Paulo metropolitan area.

The dam was completed in 1932 as part of the Alto Cotia System to address water supply needs for the expanding São Paulo region. This project marked an important step in developing infrastructure for the growing metropolitan area.

The dam forms part of the Morro Grande Reserve, which protects 10,000 hectares of dense mountain rainforest and essential water resources point.
