Centro da Cultura Judaica

The Centro da Cultura Judaica is a cultural center in Pinheiros housed in a distinctive building featuring two cylindrical concrete towers connected by a curved facade that spans the main elevation. Inside, the center contains exhibition galleries, performance halls, and spaces for workshops and community events.

The center was established in 1964 as Casa de Cultura de Israel, initially serving as a Hebrew language school. It transformed into a larger cultural institution in 2003, expanding its scope to include diverse artistic programming.

The center showcases Jewish and Israeli artistic expressions through rotating exhibitions, performances, and film screenings that reflect both heritage and contemporary creativity. Visitors encounter a space where cultural traditions actively shape the programs and events throughout the year.

The location is accessible by public transportation and situated in an active neighborhood with nearby cafes and shops. It offers visiting hours on weekdays and weekends, so checking the schedule ahead of time is advisable.

The building's design subtly references the Torah scroll through its curved structural elements, with the cylindrical towers and flowing facade evoking the rolled parchment form. This design choice merges Israeli-Jewish symbolism with Brazilian modernist architectural language in an unconventional way.
