Platina 220, Modern skyscraper in Tatuapé, São Paulo, Brazil.
Platina 220 is a modern skyscraper in the Tatuapé neighborhood with a height of 172 meters and a distinctive form created by a central prismatic block combined with three smaller volumes. The 46-story building holds residential units, a hotel, offices, and retail spaces with covered pathways at ground level.
Construction began in 2018 as part of a 2014 redevelopment plan that aimed to transform sections of eastern São Paulo. The completion of the structure represented a shift toward larger-scale development in this expanding area.
The architectural firm Königsberger Vannucchi Arquitetos Associados designed the structure to integrate visual elements with economic development goals for eastern São Paulo.
The building brings together residential, hotel, office, and retail functions within a single structure in an accessible location. Ground-level covered walkways make it easy to navigate between different sections and explore the public areas.
The facade features recessed balconies covered with porcelain cladding that create shifting patterns of light and shadow depending on the time of day and viewing angle. This carefully designed surface detail makes the exterior change its appearance as you move around the building.
