Praia dos Ossos is a wide, curving beach of pale tan sand in Armação dos Búzios, sloping gently to calm water. Behind the sand stand low white buildings and green trees, and on a small mound at one corner rises the Igreja de Sant'Anna, begun in 1740. The tree-lined shore also holds renovated fishermen's houses and the Iate Clube Armação de Búzios.

The beach's name comes from whale hunting that began around 1730, when whale bones were processed and scattered across the sand during this activity. This maritime industry shaped the area before the community developed into a fishing village.

The Igreja de Sant'Anna stands on a small mound at one corner of the beach; construction began in 1740, during the village's whaling years.
