The Estádio José Fragelli features natural grass measuring 105 by 68 meters and provides seating for 55,000 spectators within its concrete structure.
The stadium opened on April 8, 1976, following a construction period that began in 1973 under the direction of Governor José Fragelli.
Five matches of the Brazilian national football team took place at this venue between 1981 and 2002, including games against Switzerland and Ecuador.
The stadium closed in 2009 after safety inspections revealed structural problems, leading to its complete demolition for the Arena Pantanal construction.
The facility's construction required the sale of 2 million hectares of land to the Federal Senate to secure the necessary funding of Cr$ 1,200,000.
