Igreja Nossa Senhora do Bom Despacho

The church features a central quadrangular tower, trilobed arch, flying buttresses, and an ornate entrance portal crafted by Italian carpenter Vicente Gaeta.

Construction of the current church began on September 8, 1918, during the governorship of Dom Francisco de Aquino Correia, replacing an earlier 18th-century chapel.

The church received designation as a Symbol of Cuiaban Tradition and Culture in 1994 through Law 3.265, marking its importance to local heritage.

The church stands at the highest point of Morro do Seminário, making it visible from many parts of Cuiabá and accessible through Dom Aquino neighborhood.

The structure replicates French Gothic architecture, specifically Notre Dame de Lourdes, through designs by Frei Ambrosio Daydêe and engineer Georges Mousnier.
