Municipal Museum Ângelo Rosa de Moura

The Municipal Museum Ângelo Rosa de Moura is housed in a former commercial building divided into several exhibition spaces displaying regional objects and documents. Its collections include ceramics, photographs, agricultural records, and personal belongings that document local history.

The building was constructed in 1940 as Casa Jaguatirica and initially served as a trading post for regional commerce. It was converted into a cultural institution in 1981 to preserve the city's past.

The collection reflects how people in the region lived and worked through objects they made and used daily, from handcrafted items to personal mementos. These pieces show the connections between families and their surroundings across different periods.

The museum is located on Tiradentes Street and opens on weekdays with guided tours available for visitors. It is helpful to check opening times in advance and allow time to walk through the different exhibition rooms at a comfortable pace.

The museum preserves a hand-embroidered cloth from 1914 made by Ângelo Rosa's mother, linking personal family history to regional traditions. This piece shows how intimate craftwork connects to the broader story of the community.
