The Iziko South African Museum is a natural history institution in the Company's Garden housing more than one million objects. Its collections span fossils, archaeological findings, and animal specimens that document the region's biological and cultural heritage.
The institution was founded in 1825 as South Africa's first museum. It relocated to its present building in the Company's Garden in 1897 and became an important repository for regional collections.
