Thuli Parks and Wildlife Land

The Thuli Parks and Wildlife Land covers 416 square kilometers along the western bank of the Shashe River, featuring scrubland with Mopane and Combretum bush.

Established as a controlled hunting area in 1958, the park gained official status as Thuli Safari Area in 1975, incorporating four distinct wildlife reserves.

The area contains Fort Tuli, the first European-style settlement north of the Limpopo River, which housed the British South Africa Police monitoring river crossings.

Visitors require four-wheel drive vehicles to access the park through the main entrance across the Shashe River, with camping facilities available at park headquarters.

The park includes a preserved volcanic caldera measuring 1.1 kilometers in diameter, discovered by South African researchers in 1993.
