Supa Ngwao Museum

The Supa Ngwao Museum occupies three sections within a century-old Government Camp building, featuring exhibits of historical artifacts and traditional crafts.

Founded as a mobile museum in 1986, the institution settled in its permanent location and officially opened to the public in 1992.

The museum collections present photographs, farming tools, woven baskets, and musical instruments that represent the heritage of Kalanga people in northern Botswana.

Visitors can access the museum through a donation-based entrance fee and schedule guided walking tours of Francistown with 24-hour advance notice.

The museum building incorporates former police facilities, including an old prison and canteen, which add historical depth to the exhibition space.
