Amaan Stadium is the main sports facility of Zanzibar featuring a modern running track, colored plastic seats arranged in three horizontal stripes, and covered stands. It accommodates approximately 15,000 spectators and serves as home ground for several local football teams.

Amaan Stadium opened in 1970, built with aid from the Chinese government; it was China's first stadium project in Africa. On 5 February 1977 the Afro-Shirazi Party and the Tanganyika African National Union merged there into Chama cha Mapinduzi, their flags lowered for the last time as the new party's flag rose. Refurbished with Chinese help, it reopened in 2010.

The stadium serves as the setting for annual Revolution Day celebrations on January 12, drawing crowds for national ceremonies and significant political gatherings. It functions as a focal point for public events in the city.

The stadium stands in Zanzibar City on Unguja island and seats 15,000. It is being prepared for use during the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, so access may be restricted around renovation work. Check locally before travelling to the ground, as entry depends on matches and events rather than regular visiting hours.

The stadium was the site of the 5 February 1977 ceremony that merged the Afro-Shirazi Party and the Tanganyika African National Union into Chama cha Mapinduzi; the parties' flags were lowered for the last time and the new party's flag raised. Amani Abeid Karume was sworn in as President of Zanzibar here on 8 November 2000.
