Masjid Al-Hurriyyah, Islamic mosque in Bogor Institute of Agriculture complex, Indonesia
Masjid Al-Hurriyyah is a three-story mosque on the Bogor Institute of Agriculture campus with triangular structural elements throughout its design. The building has ablution facilities on the first floor, a meeting hall, bookstore, and library, while the second floor houses the main prayer area.
A first building was constructed on the site in 1965, but the current structure dates to 1992 when architect Achmad Noe'man designed a replacement. The rebuilding allowed the mosque to accommodate many more worshippers than the original.
The mosque serves as a gathering place within the university campus where students and staff participate in religious and social activities together. It functions as a central meeting point for the Muslim community at the institution.
Access is easiest through the main campus entrance, and visitors should note that appropriate dress is required. During prayer times some areas may be restricted, so it helps to check the schedule beforehand.
The triangular shapes of the building form the Arabic word 'Allah' when viewed from the perspective of the adjacent train station. This subtle architectural detail makes the design especially thoughtful.
