Kelapa Island, Marine tied island in Kepulauan Seribu Utara, Indonesia.
Kelapa Island is a residential island in Kepulauan Seribu Utara with a compact land area of about 0.25 square kilometers. The space is divided into residential zones that accommodate several thousand people living there.
The island received official administrative status through a 2000 decree. It was then formally integrated into the Thousand Islands district management system.
Residents have long traditions tied to the sea through fishing and small-scale aquaculture that shape daily life. The work with water remains visible in how the community organizes itself and uses the waterfront.
Regular boat services run from Jakarta to reach the island and connect it with the mainland. A 200-meter bridge links to a neighboring island if you need access to additional services or facilities.
The island is part of a cluster of about 36 smaller islands, only two of which have permanent settlements. The others serve tourism or industrial purposes, showing how varied the uses of this region are.
