Padjadjaran University is a public institution in Jatinangor near Bandung in Indonesia, training students across multiple disciplines. The Jatinangor campus hosts mainly undergraduate learners, while Dipati Ukur in Bandung holds postgraduate programs.
President Sukarno founded the institution in 1957 with four departments covering law, economics, medicine, and mathematics and natural sciences. The institution expanded over the decades and moved undergraduate teaching to Jatinangor in 1983.
The name connects the university to the former capital of the Sunda Kingdom, recalling local roots in West Java. Students and visitors encounter this regional identity in campus architecture and in programs devoted to Sundanese language and culture.
Visitors to the grounds will find 17 dormitories near teaching buildings, making orientation and connection easier. Additional apartments are available in adjoining neighborhoods if you want more quiet or choice.
A central laboratory on the grounds has focused on herbal medicine research since 2016. Visitors can sometimes tour this specialized facility and learn how traditional remedies are studied.
