Antapani spans 4.01 square kilometers of residential areas divided into four distinct sub-regions: Antapani Kulon, Tengah, Kidul, and Wetan.
The district emerged from the subdivision of Cicadas region and received official recognition as a separate administrative entity on April 14, 2007.
