Mount Binaiya

Mount Binaiya rises to 3,027 meters above sea level within Manusela National Park, occupying 20 percent of Seram Island in Maluku Province.

The mountain features two established climbing routes, with the northern path starting from Kanikeh village and the southern route beginning at Moso village.

Local leaders conduct traditional ceremonies involving black chicken sacrifices at Kampung Kanike before allowing climbers to start their ascent.

The southern route trek requires eight days through multiple camps, crossing rivers and dense rainforest before reaching the summit at Puncak Waifuku.

The mountain contains diverse ecosystems from coastal forests to sub-alpine zones, with protected bird species and endemic plants throughout its slopes.
