Mayo, Electoral division in South Australia.
The Division of Mayo stretches across 9,315 square kilometers from the Barossa Valley in the north to Cape Jervis in the south of South Australia.
Created in September 1984, Mayo was named after Helen Mayo, the first woman appointed to an Australian University Council and advocate for maternal health.
The electoral region includes multiple population centers such as Mount Barker, Aldgate, Bridgewater, Littlehampton, McLaren Vale, Nairne, and Stirling, each with distinct communities.
The Australian Electoral Commission manages voting procedures and communicates polling locations to approximately 130,767 registered voters within the division.
Rebekha Sharkie's 2016 victory marked a shift from the division's traditional Liberal Party representation, which had lasted since its establishment.
