The Division of Mayo stretches from the Barossa Valley in the north to Cape Jervis in the south across South Australia. This region combines wine-growing areas, hillside towns, and coastal landscapes in a diverse geographic mosaic.
The electoral division was established in 1984 and named after Helen Mayo, an advocate for maternal health. She was also the first woman appointed to an Australian University Council.
