St John's Church, Adelaide

The church building features sandstone rubble walls, a prominent tower, and contains an organ that serves regular worship services and musical events.

The foundation stone was laid by Governor Gawler in 1839, with the first structure completed in 1841, later replaced by the current building in 1887.

The congregation acknowledges the Kaurna people as traditional inhabitants of the land where the church stands, integrating environmental care into religious practices.

The parish hall, constructed in 1880, continues to function as a gathering space for community events, education programs, and social activities.

Between 1843 and 1846, while regular services were suspended, the church remained active by hosting 30 marriages and 88 baptisms during this period.
