No 2 Goods Shed, Heritage railway freight building in Docklands, Melbourne, Australia
The No 2 Goods Shed extends 385 meters with three parallel gabled roofs, supported by cast iron columns and features twenty-six doors on each side.
Built in 1889 as the Victorian Railway's goods terminal, this structure served as Melbourne's central distribution hub, employing 1500 workers during the 1890s peak.
The two-story brick administration building includes a clock tower that represents the architectural standards of Victorian-era railway infrastructure in Australia.
Located at 733 Bourke Street in Docklands, the building now houses office spaces following a substantial restoration and redevelopment project.
At the time of its completion, this railway structure held the title of longest single building in Australia, featuring slate-covered roofs with ridge lanterns.
