Redfern Town Hall, Victorian Regency town hall in Redfern, Sydney, Australia
The sandstone civic building features grand proportions, arched windows, and decorative elements characteristic of Victorian Regency architecture from the 1870s.
George Allen Mansfield designed this municipal structure in 1870, serving as the administrative center for the Municipality of Redfern until 1948.
The town hall witnessed the formation of the South Sydney Rabbitohs rugby league club in 1908, with cricket star Victor Trumper among the attendees.
Located at 73 Pitt Street, the building houses the Redfern Legal Centre, which has operated from this location since March 1977.
The structure hosted the 1904 State Labor Party election campaign launch by James McGowen, marking a significant moment in New South Wales politics.
