St Bartholomew's Anglican Church and Cemetery, Prospect

St Bartholomew's features a Victorian Georgian architectural design with a rectangular shape, square tower, and fine stone work details throughout the structure.

The church construction began in 1838 under builder James Atkinson, with funding split between local settlers and the Colonial Treasury following the Church Act of 1836.

The cemetery contains over 800 graves representing different denominations, including Anglican, Presbyterian, Methodist, Baptist, and Orthodox community members.

Located on Ponds Road, the cemetery holds 3,798 memorials with documented photographs, though new burial plots are no longer available for purchase.

A fire in 1989 damaged the church structure, leading to extensive renovations from 2000 to 2001 supported by federal funding and community preservation efforts.
