Warringah, Electoral division in New South Wales, Australia

Warringah is an electoral division in northern Sydney that spans about 51 square kilometers and includes multiple council areas such as Mosman and parts of North Sydney. The division stretches from Port Jackson to Dee Why, bordering the Tasman Sea, while it has around 105,000 registered voters.

The electoral division was established in 1922 and was long a safe Liberal Party stronghold. This changed in 2019 when independent candidate Zali Steggall won against incumbent Tony Abbott.

The name Warringah comes from an Aboriginal language and refers to water and harbors; it was first recorded for Middle Harbour in 1832. The area remains connected to this coastal heritage in how locals relate to the waterfront.

The division covers a broad geographic area that includes both coastal regions and inner-city neighborhoods, offering visitors different environments to explore. The Australian Electoral Commission maintains current information about boundaries and voter registrations for all local elections.

The division stretches from Port Jackson harbor to the coastal suburb of Dee Why, offering voters a region strongly shaped by water views and seaside character. This waterfront location has given the division a distinctive identity compared to other Sydney electoral areas.
