Ayr State High School

Ayr State High School is a secondary education facility located at the corner of Edwards and Wickham Streets, featuring wide verandahs and arched arcading across its buildings. The complex contains classrooms, sports fields, and specialized areas designed for different subjects.

The school was established in 1937 when the region experienced economic growth driven by sugar plantation expansion. It served as one of the first secondary education facilities in the Burdekin area.
