The wooden chapel measures 20 by 50 feet with a cruciform shape and features an onion dome positioned on top of its tower.
Built in 1901 under architect Alexi Andreev Oskolkoff's supervision, this chapel replaced an earlier church constructed after Ninilchik's establishment in 1846.
The chapel represents Russian Orthodox religious traditions in Alaska, serving as a central place of worship for the local Orthodox community.
Located on Orthodox Avenue at Mile 135 of Sterling Highway, visitors can find the chapel at coordinates 60°3′1″N 151°39′55″W.
This structure remains one of only two buildings from the Russian period in Ninilchik, alongside a modified schoolhouse.
