Playa Los Cerritos, Surfing beach in El Pescadero, Mexico

Playa Los Cerritos is a beach in El Pescadero, Baja California Sur, on the Pacific coast about 1,200 km west of Mexico City. The bay curves in a crescent, with cliffs at its western edge, and the shore faces open ocean where waves form throughout the year. The climate is dry, with average temperatures near 26 °C and annual rainfall of roughly 384 mm.

The area developed as a visitor destination through infrastructure improvements in the early 2000s. Following these changes, it gained recognition as an international surfing location.

The beach sits beside El Pescadero, a farming village whose fields of basil, tomatoes and other crops supply markets in La Paz and Cabo San Lucas. Fishing boats still launch from the sand at the northern end, and the same stretch of shore is used by surfers and by families who come down from the village in the afternoon.

The best time to visit is during the wave season when conditions favor surfers of all levels. On-site equipment rentals and instructors make it easier for beginners to get started.
