Bahía de Loreto National Park

The park covers 206,580 hectares including five uninhabited islands and multiple islets scattered across the waters of the Sea of Cortez.

The Mexican government established the national park in 1996, leading to its recognition as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2005.

Local fishermen maintain traditional sustainable fishing practices within designated zones, contributing to the preservation of marine resources.

Visitors can access the park through tour operators in Loreto, who provide guided trips for snorkeling, kayaking, and whale watching.

The underwater canyons and marine terraces host numerous species of whales during their annual migration through these protected waters.
