The building was originally constructed in 1917 as a Norwegian Lutheran church, making it the first place of worship in the area. This founding presence has influenced the neighborhood's development since then.

The church was founded by six families of Norwegian descent, who named it the Norwegian Lutheran Church; the building later served for years as the Faith Bible Church. It is now used by a Korean congregation, known as the Northridge Free Methodist Church or the Los Angeles Antioch Church, and a sign in March 2008 read Los Angeles Antioch Church.

The church stands at 18531 Gresham Street, in a residential part of Northridge in the San Fernando Valley. It is a street-side building with no grounds to tour, so visitors see it from the pavement; the entrance steeple faces the street.
