A 1.3-mile long sidewalk features over 2,600 brass stars embedded in the pavement, marking achievements in entertainment across multiple categories.
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce initiated the project in 1958 to enhance the neighborhood, with the first official star installation occurring in 1960.
Each star contains a bronze emblem representing one of six categories: motion pictures, television, recording, radio, live theater, or sports entertainment.
The Walk extends along Hollywood Boulevard from Gower Street to La Brea Avenue, intersecting with major tourist destinations and public transportation.
Four stars have been stolen since 1960, including Gregory Peck's star, which was removed from the pavement near Gower Street in 2005.
