Morelos Park, Nature reserve and urban park in Tijuana, Mexico
Morelos Park is a nature reserve and urban park in Tijuana that spreads across multiple landscaped areas and features an artificial lake home to various fish species and waterfowl. The grounds include walking paths, rest areas, and open spaces designed for visitors to move through and explore.
The park took its current form when the Municipal System of Thematic Parks of Tijuana assumed management in 1998 and began expanding recreational features. Conservation efforts were put in place to protect the natural environment and wildlife within the reserve.
The park serves as a gathering point where local residents spend weekends walking, exercising, and enjoying outdoor time together. Regular community events and environmental education activities bring people together throughout the year.
The park offers eleven kiosks and ten designated picnic areas available free of charge for gatherings, barbecues, and recreation. Visitors planning a weekend trip should expect crowds and bring sun protection or water, especially during sunny afternoons.
A small train circles the artificial lake regularly, providing a different view of the water from above. Boat rentals available at a dedicated dock allow visitors to explore the lake at their own pace.
