KRDC, family-targeted country music radio station in Pasadena, California, United States
KRDC is an AM radio station in Pasadena, California, broadcasting on 1110 AM. Its transmitter towers are located in Irwindale and carry the signal across the Los Angeles region, with stronger coverage during daytime hours.
The station started broadcasting in the 1940s and went through several name changes over the decades, including KPAS, KXLA, KRLA, and KDIS. It took the name KRDC in 2017 before changing again shortly after.
The station was part of Radio Disney for about 18 years, playing music designed for children and families. This role made it a familiar voice in many households across the Los Angeles area.
The station can be received on 1110 AM and is also available online through digital formats. Daytime reception is generally stronger across Pasadena and nearby areas, while the signal weakens at night.
The original transmitter site in El Monte was abandoned in 1987, leaving behind underground cooling channels that once served the old equipment. The move to Irwindale was made specifically to improve the signal at night across the greater Los Angeles area.
