Maliboomer, Space Shot amusement ride in Paradise Pier, Disney California Adventure, US.
Maliboomer was an amusement ride featuring three connected towers that propelled riders upward using pneumatic force. The structure reached approximately 180 feet (55 meters) high and was a defining feature of Paradise Pier's landscape.
This ride opened in February 2001 alongside Disney California Adventure Park as one of the initial budget-friendly attractions. It operated until September 2010, after which the location was repurposed for new entertainment experiences.
The name drew from the California coastal town of Malibu and paired it with carnival high striker games, capturing the state's playful entertainment culture. Visitors immediately understood this reference to California's leisure heritage.
Protective sound barriers surrounded the ride to reduce noise impact on nearby residential neighborhoods in the area. Visitors typically found the shortest wait times during early morning hours.
The concrete foundation remained visible in the park for several years after the ride closed. Today, Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind occupies the same spot, showing how the park refreshes its entertainment offerings over time.
