McCallum Theatre, Performing arts center in Palm Desert, US
The McCallum Theatre features 1,127 seats and presents Broadway shows, classical music, dance performances, and comedy acts in the Coachella Valley region.
The theatre opened in January 1988 with an event featuring Van Cliburn, Lucille Ball, Sarah Brightman, and dancers from Alvin Ailey performing for Ronald Reagan and Gerald Ford.
The McCallum Theatre Education programs have provided artistic experiences to over one million students, educators, and community members through performances and learning activities.
The theatre maintains regular operations through ticket sales, community donations, and annual fundraising events, including the 2024 gala featuring Josh Groban.
The venue originated from a 1973 initiative by Coachella Valley leaders, with contributions from Bob Hope and developer Terry Hahn reaching completion fifteen years later.
