Grand Boulevard, Historic district in Corona, US
Grand Boulevard is a circular street in Corona, California that encloses the city's central district. The road forms a perfect circle and passes through residential neighborhoods featuring historic buildings and maintained green spaces.
In 1886, engineer Hiram Clay Kellogg designed this circular roadway and completed the layout in just three days. The idea was initially controversial, but the street became a defining feature of Corona's urban development.
The area holds numerous early 1900s residences that belonged to Corona's founding families. Mature trees and traditional street lighting still define the character of the street today.
Access to the street is available through the Main Street exit from California State Route 91, which connects directly to the ring road. You can explore the entire route on foot or drive through it depending on how much time you have.
Between 1913 and 1916, international automobile races took place on the street, drawing tens of thousands of spectators. These racing events made Corona a known center of early motorsport in America.
