The i.d.e.a. Museum occupies a refurbished 1950s grocery store at 150 Pepper Place in downtown Mesa, run by the City of Mesa. Its more than 20,000 square feet of public exhibition space hold the Whiteman Family Exhibit Gallery, the HUB gallery, ArtVille and three classrooms. ArtVille is a permanent small-town environment for children aged 0 to 4, while the HUB offers building with recyclable materials and drawing on a dry-erase wall.

The City of Mesa established this educational facility to provide creative learning through rotating exhibitions. The institution was developed to give young people hands-on artistic and scientific experiences in an interactive setting.
