La Casa del High Jinks
La Casa del High Jinks, Pueblo Revival residence in Oracle, Pinal County, US.
The two-story stone house measures 51 by 31 feet with 30-foot-high granite and concrete walls situated within Coronado National Forest.
Buffalo Bill Cody established High Jinks Ranch in 1912 for gold mining, but after his death, Lewis Claude Way acquired the property and built the house in 1928.
The construction incorporates traditional Pueblo elements including massive stone walls, flat roofs, wooden lintels, and projecting wooden vigas throughout the structure.
The property functions as a rest point for hikers on the Arizona Trail, requiring advance planning due to seasonal road conditions and specific visitation regulations.
The location served as a filming site for the 1924 motion picture The Mine with the Iron Door, based on Harold Bell Wright's story about Santa Catalina mountains.
