The yellow-colored El Calvario Church features three prominent archways at its entrance, representing the crosses of the crucifixion on Mount Golgotha.
The garden contains an Esquisúchil tree planted in 1657 by Saint Hermano Pedro de San José de Betancourt, the first saint from Central America.
The church marks the final Station of the Cross during Holy Week celebrations, concluding forty days of religious observances in Antigua Guatemala.
Located at the southeastern end of Antigua Guatemala, the church remains open for visits during daylight hours with photography permitted inside.
The Esquisúchil tree in the garden produces flowers with medicinal properties, leading to its designation as National Cultural Heritage in 2004.
