Parque El Virrey, Park in Bogotá, Colombia

Parque El Virrey, formally the Parque Lineal y Corredor Ecológico de Ronda El Virrey, is a linear park covering 104,739 m² along Calle 88, from Carrera Séptima to Autopista Norte in northern Bogotá. It follows the course of the El Virrey stream (Río Negro) in a channel through the middle, and has three cycling lanes, two bicycle bridges, six playgrounds, three pedestrian paths and twelve plazas.

The park was created to protect the El Virrey stream (also called Río Negro) and the birds and plants along its banks. Its area was divided into three sections: Carrera Séptima to Carrera 11, Carrera 11 to 15, and Carrera 15 to Autopista Norte, where the park widens. A Consejo de Estado ruling prohibits high-impact and mass events in the park.

Since 2002 the Fundación Corazón Verde has held the Alimentarte food festival here each year around mid-year. Since 2006 the park has also been one of the sites the city uses for part of its Christmas lighting. A Consejo de Estado ruling bans large, high-impact events, and signs prohibit football and similar activities.

The park runs along Calle 88 from Carrera Séptima to Autopista Norte, with the TransMilenio Virrey station at its western end on the Autopista. It is divided into three sections: Séptima to Carrera 11, Carrera 11 to 15, and Carrera 15 to the Autopista, where it widens.
