Curú Wildlife Refuge, Wildlife refuge in Paquera, Costa Rica
The refuge spans 1,496 hectares of diverse ecosystems, including deciduous forests, mangroves, and pristine beaches along the southeastern Nicoya Peninsula.
Established in 1983, this protected area transformed from farmland and logging territory into a conservation site managed by Área de Conservación Tempisque.
The refuge connects visitors with local environmental education programs through guided tours, wildlife observation sessions, and conservation awareness activities.
Visitors can access multiple marked trails such as the Manakin Trail, Monkey Farm Trail, and Ceiba Trail, each offering different perspectives of the local environment.
