The Centro Cultural de España occupies a restored mansion at 18 Guatemala Street, featuring exhibition spaces across multiple floors and a café with city views.
The Spanish government acquired and renovated this earthquake-damaged building in 1997, transforming it into a cultural center that opened in 2002 with royal attendance.
The center maintains an extensive program of art exhibitions, workshops, and performances that represent both Mexican and Spanish artistic expressions.
Visitors can access the center via public transportation to Centro Histórico, with the facility offering limited wheelchair accessibility and a specialized library collection.
The 2012 expansion added 4000 square meters of space with a new wing facing Donceles Street, designed by architect Javier Sánchez.
