Colección Andrés Blaisten

The Coleccion Andrés Blaisten is a private collection containing more than 12,000 artworks including paintings, sculptures, prints, and photographs from over 8,000 Mexican artists. The works span different periods and demonstrate the breadth of Mexican artistic output.

The collection began in 1978 when Andrés Blaisten started acquiring works from students and teachers at the National School of Plastic Arts. These early acquisitions became the foundation for one of Mexico's largest private collections.

The collection shows Mexican artworks spanning from colonial times through today, documenting the country's artistic journey.

In 2007, the collection established a partnership with Mexico's National Autonomous University, marking the first collaboration between a private collector and a public institution in the country. This alliance opened new avenues for public engagement with the artworks.
