Historic Archive and Museum of Mining in Pachuca, Mining history museum in central Pachuca, Mexico

The Mining Museum occupies a 19th-century neoclassical building with stone walls surrounding 950 square meters of space around two gardens and a central courtyard.

The mining archive preservation work started in 1981 with the rescue and classification of documents from the Real del Monte and Pachuca Company, becoming permanent in 1987.

The institution houses the Juan Barron Library with 7,200 volumes and the Ezequiel Ordonez newspaper library containing 13,000 volumes specializing in mining and geology.

The museum opens Tuesday through Sunday from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM during winter and from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM during regular season.

The industrial archaeology section displays early 20th-century Mack trucks, an 80-ton crane, a winch, and other mining machinery in the garden area.
