Basílica Menor de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe

Basílica Menor de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe, Neoclassical basilica in central Pachuca, Mexico.

The Basílica Menor de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe is a neoclassical church in Pachuca with two matching white towers and a wide front facade. The building holds many worshippers inside with arched ceilings and a main altar area.

The current basilica was completed in 1952 and replaced a small chapel from 1596. It was built to serve the growing number of pilgrims who came to this place of devotion.

The basilica is dedicated to the Virgin of Guadalupe, a central figure in Mexican spirituality and faith. Inside, religious artworks and stained glass windows show scenes that hold deep meaning for worshippers.

The church sits in central Pachuca and is easy to reach on foot. The spacious interior allows visitors to move around freely and explore at their own pace.

In 2004, the church received Minor Basilica status, marking recognition of its religious importance in Hidalgo. This elevation honored its long tradition as a pilgrimage destination.
